Carol R. Smith

Carol is an active musician in the Portland area.  She performs regularly in brass chamber groups throughout the area, and she teaches private trumpet lessons.  Previously, Carol served as Director of The Oregon Principals' Center at Lewis & Clark College which supports school leaders across Oregon and southwest Washington.  Prior to teaching at Lewis & Clark, Carol served as both an elementary and a middle school principal in the Beaverton School District. Her ad­ministrative career in Beaverton included coordinating the District's fine arts curriculum. She is a graduate of both Stetson University, where she received her Bachelor of Music Education degree, and Lewis & Clark College, where she received her Master of Music degree.  In 2007, she also received her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Portland State University.  Carol has served on the boards of several local arts organizations including the YMCA, Young Audiences, and the Beaverton Arts Commission.
