State of the Arts 3/17

On March 17th at 9:30 AM, RACC will be delivering its annual State of the Arts presentation to Portland City Council. Last year, more than 200 arts supporters packed City Hall for this event to show our support for the City’s annual investment in the arts. It is time again to show City Council how strong the arts community is, and how important culture and creativity are to the community!
Please RSVP now and join us on Wednesday, March 17th at 9:30 AM at Portland City Hall to demonstrate your continued support for the arts and creativity in our region. Since it’s St. Patrick’s Day, you are encouraged to dress in your most festive and creative green. Depending on other city business that morning, the event may start a little after 9:30AM, but certainly not before. It is expected to take about an hour, with RACC’s presentation taking approximately 20 minutes; citizen testimony taking about 20 minutes; and City Council comments taking about 20 minutes. You need not prepare anything for this event, simply come and support our fellow artists and storytellers that morning. We are not asking for money on the 17th, but rather illustrating the many ways that City investments in the arts support a strong and vibrant community.
City Hall is located at 1221 SW 4th Ave. Last year there was standing room only so you may wish to arrive early. Representatives from the Creative Advocacy Network will be on hand to answer any questions you might have.
Please email rsvp@theartscan.org if you plan to attend. Or, you can watch the broadcast live at 9:30 AM on March 17th here.
