RACC partners with Northwest Business for Culture and the Arts (NW/BCA) to provide a variety of services for the local business community.

  • RACC and NW/BCA work together to build and promote Work for Art, a workplace giving program for arts and culture. Through this program, more than $200,000 will be raised for local arts organizations in FY06-07.
  • RACC is an advocate for NW/BCA’s efforts to promote the importance of the arts within the business community. Read NW/BCA’s Top 20 Reasons for businesses to support the arts.
  • 20 cities throughout the United States, including Portland, are hosting the MetLife Foundation National Arts Forum Series, a program of Americans for the Arts that is designed to explore new links between arts and business. Last year RACC and NW/BCA presented two forums to explore the transforming arts landscape, and how communities can move beyond traditional corporate giving models to support the arts. This year’s theme focuses on how arts and creativity play a vital role in building a strong workforce. Forums will be held in January and March, 2007.
  • Read a new report - Arts & Economic Prosperity III- commissioned by Americans for the Arts, RACC and NW Buisness for Culture and the Arts that notes the following: The nonprofit arts and culture sector represents a $318.26 million industry in the Portland metropolitan area, one that supports 10,321 full-time equivalent jobs, generates $206.67 million in household income, and delivers $27.12 million in local and state government revenue.
  • RACC support’s NW/BCA’s Art of Leadership and Board Leadership Institute programs, which provide training and awareness for participants regarding the challenges that arts organizations face and the role that businesspeople can play as members of an arts board.
  • RACC encourages businesses to contribute to the Oregon Cultural Trust. Oregon corporations that give to a local arts organizations and a matching gift to the Oregon Cultural Trust will receive a tax credit on their April Oregon Income Tax bill, dollar for dollar, up to $2,500.   • For the private sector, RACC Management Services works locally and around the country to create Public Art Master Plans, design public art programs, serve on Public Art Selection Panels, and manage artist selection processes.
