The RACC Grants Program supports a diverse range of arts and culture organizations and artists. Grants are awarded based on artistic excellence, proven service to the community, administrative competence, and fiscal responsibility. These grants support a wide variety of activities and disciplines, and are available to artists and non-profit organizations in the tri-county area (Multnomah, Washington and Clackamas counties).

The RACC Grants Program is committed to providing services and making our resources available to every member of the tri-county, Portland-metropolitan area without regard to race, color, creed, religion, age, gender, sexual orientation, military status, marital status, political opinion, national origin, familial status, mental and physical disability, gender identity, and source of income or disability status.

RACC Grants

Deadlines for the following RACC Grants in 2008:

Opportunity Grant Program is designed to provide grants to Portland-based nonprofit arts and cultural organizations to help meet special opportunities or assist organizations with emergencies that arise during the year and that are not part of the applicant’s annual budget or regular programming. There will be multiple cycles of this grant throughout the fiscal year. It is meant to supplement but not be a substitute for any other existing RACC grant. Guidelines and applications now available on RACC GrantsOnline. Next Deadline for Intent to Apply: 8/6/08.

General Support Grants aim to provide general financial support to arts organizations in Multnomah, Washington, and Clackamas Counties, based on their artistic excellence, proven service to the community, administrative and fiscal competence. Must have minimum eligible expenses of $80,000 and at least one paid professional staff. Applications and guidelines available at GrantsOnline. Deadline has PASSED.

Professional Development Grants (Cycle I) assist artists or arts administrators with opportunities that specifically improve their business management development skills and/or brings the artist or the arts organization to another level artistically. Applications and guidelines available at GrantsOnline. Deadline has PASSED.

Individual Artist Fellowship recognizes artistic achievement and excellence and offers individual artists in the tri-county region greater opportunities to advance their work. The program is intended to help individual artists of high merit sustain or enhance their creative process. In 2008 a $20,000 Fellowship Award will be made in Literature. Literary arts include poetry, fiction, creative non-fiction and playwriting. Deadline has PASSED.

Project Grants to individual artists in three (3) categories: Artistic Focus, Neighborhood Arts and Arts In Schools. A project is a specific art presentation, exhibit or creation of work that is fully executed within a specified timeline and contains a public component. Deadline has PASSED.

Project Grants to non-profit organizations in three (3) categories: Artistic Focus, Neighborhood Arts and Arts In Schools*. A project is a specific art presentation, exhibit or creation of work that is fully executed within a specified timeline and contains a public component. Deadline has PASSED.

* In an effort to better accomodate the needs of the education community, the availability of Project Grant Arts-In-Schools applications will coincide with the beginning of the school year.

Professional Development Grants (Cycle 2) assist artists or arts administrators with opportunities that specifically improve their business management development skills and/or brings the artist or the arts organization to another level artistically. Intent to Apply Deadline: 9/24/08.

Arts Education Grants, called Arts Education Fast Track Grants, offer funding for arts education projects to all public and private schools in Clackamas, Multnomah and Washington Counties.
