Shashi Caan is an internationally recognized interior and product designer, driving the potential of interior design to become a more dynamic and creative practice. Born in India, she was educated in the UK and the US, earning degrees in art, industrial design, and architecture. Her New York-based firm, The Shashi Cann Collective, creates a bridge between art and science, with a rigorous and provocative inquiry into the relationships between humans and the spaces that they occupy. Caan is the former Chair of Interior Design at Parsons School The New School for Design, New York. Her work has been recognized in such magazines as Architectural Record, Interior Design, Elle Décor and Metropolis, and by Contract Magazine’s, who selected her as the National 2004 Interior Designer of the Year. 

All lectures are free of charge, open to the public, and take place on Thursday evenings at 6:30pm in the MFA in Applied Craft and Design Studios at The Bison Building, 421 NE 10th Avenue at Glisan Street.
