4/6 RACC workshop: Happening! A homegrown local music forum
What if we got everyone together in one room: the musicians, bookers, managers, writers, label owners, and all the folks who make music happen in Portland? What doors could we open for one another? What would we learn, and who could we meet?
Happening! will be an exploratory conversation about how music works around here, and how artists and supporters continue to shape it for themselves. We will hear from a panel of folks who make music come together here in Portland – as musicians and professionals supporting them. We’ll also be putting together small break-out groups, so that we can make connections and share info about the parts of the music world that excite us and the ones that drive us crazy.
How do you get paid for the work you love when things are moving so fast? How do you produce your best work and get it to the most ears? Bring your stories, questions, and ideas. We’ll bring snacks, beer, experts, and conversation. Let’s find some news ways to make music happen.
