Oregon Arts Commission Seeks Consultant or Consulting firm to undertake the following related to the planning of a one-day Arts Education Summit to be held in late Fall, 2008: Planning 1. Assist the Oregon Arts Commission in defining and prioritizing the goals and desired outcomes from a one-day arts education summit/leadership meeting; 2. Design and facilitate summit planning process; 3. Develop tools to evaluate achievement of goals and outcomes. Communications 1. Work with commission staff to develop and implement communication and advocacy strategy leading up to the summit; the Arts Commission will provide the services of a professional graphic designer for print and online communications; 2. Recommend a post-summit communication strategy to help build a permanent arts education learning community and to strengthen existing informal networks. Event Design and Management 1. Work with Arts Commission staff to design the day-long summit; prepare summit schedule and timeline; provide on-site oversight of event; 2. Identify potential session leaders and presenters; 3. Identify key stakeholders for invitation to participate in Summit; 4. Help identify and secure a location for the Summit and work with the selected facility to arrange use of technology, appropriate meals and other services; 5. Shakespeare Studies Coordinator sought by Southern Oregon University. Since its founding in 1986, the Center for Shakespeare Studies has connected the realms of Shakespeare performance, teaching, and scholarship. Special Project Exhibit Coordinator (P/T) sought by Oregon Historical Society. This position is part of Oregon Tribes exhibit project, a part-time position of 13 days per month, 5 of which is devoted to installation and de-installation of the exhibit at venues around the state, once the exhibit begins to travel in September 2008. Candidate will be responsible for coordination of exhibit activities in support of the traveling exhibit, Oregon Tribes. Including, but not limited to, scheduling venues, transporting exhibit to venues, installing exhibit at venues, scheduling programs, tracking public response mechanisms, serving as the “point of contact” person for the venues, execution of correspondence and loan documents necessary for the traveling exhibit, and support Director of Public Services in project management of the exhibit. Oregon History Project Writer and Researcher (P/T) sought by Oregon Historical Society. This position is responsible for creating content materials for the Oregon History Project. The Researcher works with the manager of the OHP to identify appropriate primary source materials and compose short contextual essays (headnotes). The position also calls for support in maintenance of the website and the preparation of materials for website workshops and presentations. This is a six- month, part-time position (approximately 10 hours a week) with no benefits. Position could be renewed contingent upon funding. Required Skills and Experience: Master’s degree in history preferred. Bachelor’s degree with at least two years experience in working with research is required. Director of Development sought by Oregon Ballet Theatre. Reporting to the Executive Director, the DOD is a key member of the senior management team. Working closely with the team and the board of directors, he or she will develop and execute strategic funding plans for the organization. The DOD will focus on cultivating and growing long-term sustainable relationships with OBT supporters and donors by implementing major gifts and planned giving programs, and other programs (such as endowment or capital campaigns) as the need arises. The DOD will oversee all fundraising for annual operations in a coordinated and integrated fashion, including grant writing, special events and programs, corporate sponsorships, memberships, and direct mail campaigns. Folklife Programs Manager sought by Oregon Historical Society to join their Public Service team.
