Non-Juried Artwork sought by North Clackamas Arts Guild 2008 Fine Art Exhibit & Sale. Paintings, drawings and collages of high quality wanted. Open to all artists 16 years and older. $7 per entry for NCAG members, $10 for non-members. The location is the Milwaukie Center, North Clackamas Park, 5440 SE Kellogg Creek Drive in Milwaukie. There will be cash or merchandise prizes, at least $200 for Best of Show, $50 for Peoples’ Choice, and $75 in each of the three media groups: 1. Oil, Alkyd, Acrylic; 2. Watercolor Media; 3. Drawing Media, Mixed Media. In each media group, there are 3 categories : 1. Landscapes, seascapes, architecture; 2. Animal/Wildlife, Portrait/Figures; 3. Still life, floral, abstract, miscellaneous. Non-Juried Call to Artists. L'une - a new contemporary north coast gallery currently accepting submission of innovative and distinctive artwork in all media to round out the opening show this spring. Volunteer Chalk Artists Wanted. The Wilson Area Arts Council (WAAC) is sponsoring a Wilson Cluster Chalk Art Festival in September at the Hillsdale Farmers Market. We need one or two talented chalk artists who could provide tips and demonstrations during the event. Just imagine artists of all ages - children, teens, adults and families and friends - working to create their own sidewalk artwork. Seeking Volunteer Art Intern. Professional artist showing at major Portland gallery has position available for a part time assistant. Work will involve helping with all the many activities of running the business side of things. Depending on skills, the job could involve everything that needs to be done: work on Mac to update website, use art software like eArtist, update QuickBooks, photograph paintings, track inventory, develop and implement marketing strategies, work with galleries, some paint mixing and other fun things. Volunteers Sought by Rock 'n' Roll Camp for Girls. Online Store and Record Label Intern. Dedicate 10-20 hrs a week to online store, in-camp store and online record label for at least 6 months, preferably longer. Must be computer literate and very comfortable with all types of techie activities and programs including but not limited to web updates, database entry, Paypal, burning CDs and DVDs, iTunes, CD Baby etc. Volunteers for one-week summer camp sessions. There are four sessions, 6/23-28, 7/7-12, and 7/21-26 and 8/4-9 with a full day of training the Sunday before each session. Shifts are 8am-1pm, 1pm-6pm and 4-7pm. Portland Actors Conservatory Seeks Volunteer Marketing Coordinator. A professional with a strong background in sales/marketing, and ideally in the arts, to assist us in planning, implementing and managing an aggressive outreach effort on our behalf. Volunteers Coordinator sought Miracle Theatre Group, the Northwest’s premiere Latino arts and culture organization. 8/7 Update on City Arts Gallery Closure. The City Arts Gallery closed in downtown Portland in January 2008 without, in some cases, paying artists for sales or allowing artists to retrieve their work. On August 5, 2008, the Gallery was ordered by a Multnomah County Court to pay sculptor Michelle Gallagher and painter Margie Lee the funds they were owed. The Penny Jam offers a weekly video podcast filmed in Portland Oregon. In each episode they film a different band playing in an unconventional performance space in the Portland area, helping music escape from the often-drab environs of dark, neon, concert venues. They are interested in documenting as wide a variety of musical styles as possible, including indie rock, bluegrass, electronic, hip-hop, jazz etc, etc.
