Who they fund:
Grants are available to American dance, music and theater ensembles and solo performers that have been invited to perform at international festivals and engagements that represent extraordinary career opportunities anywhere in the world outside of the United States.
Geographic focus:
Whether a U.S.-based ensemble or a collaborative project with artists in the host country, the majority of participants in the performance must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
What is required:
Eligible applicants must be dance, music or theater ensembles or solo artists, including practitioners of folk and traditional forms, that work at a professional level. They must be designated by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization or have a U.S. based fiscal sponsor. More details regarding the festival eligibility requirements can be found in the FY11 Guidelines at the website below.
Deadlines:
September 7, 2010 for projects taking place between November 1, 2010 and October 31, 2011.
December 13, 2010 for projects taking place between March 1, 2011 and February 28, 2012.
April 22, 2011 for projects taking place between July 1, 2011 and June 30, 2012.
Complete applications must be received (not postmarked) on or before the deadline. Applications received after the deadline will not be considered for review.
