The Portland Art Museum announces an unpaid Internship opportunity in our education department. This education intern position will be responsible for completing various tasks that play an integral part in the daily operations of the Object Stories Initiative. The Object Stories Intern will assist the Interactive Media Producer with the following:

Helping volunteers in the Object Stories space
Using a content management system to edit Object Stories
Assisting education staff with the scheduling and facilitation of school group recordings
Working with developers to troubleshoot and identify bugs
Other duties as assigned

This internship is part-time, 5-10 hours per week, with a flexible work schedule based on the student’s schedule. Need  a three to six month commitment and the internship is available immediately. Please note these are unpaid internship opportunities.

Eligibility and Qualifications: Applicants may be undergraduate or graduate students currently enrolled in a program with interest in media and technology, oral history, education or equivalent area of study. Qualified individuals will possess strong writing skills; the ability to operate both Mac and PC platforms; experience using Microsoft office suite; the ability to learn new software and adapt to new technology easily; strong attention to detail; and experience at general administrative tasks. Experience using iMovie, Garage Band, Screenflow or Final Cut Pro is desirable, but not required.
