Print Arts Northwest Call to Artists: Monothon PDX 2010

Monothon PDX 2010, is a community-wide fundraising event for Print Arts Northwest | PAN. Artists are being invited to participate in Monothon PDX 2010 and will have the opportunity to create original monotype prints in printmaking studios throughout the city of Portland, October 1 -3. Professional printmakers will be on hand to assist in this lively and immediate printmaking process. Multiple presses will be available with all printmaking supplies provided free of charge. Food and beverages will also be provided throughout the day to help keep spirit high and the presses hot.

Each day of printing, Friday, 10|1 - Sunday, 10|3, will consist of three monotype sessions scheduled from 8 am until 10 pm. Friday evening and Saturday afternoon sessions will be open for the public to observe the artists at work. The primary printing site will be at Atelier Meridian, 665 N. Tillamook, Portland, Oregon 97227, with additional studio sites in Portland to be announced.
Participants will donate one or more prints produced during the event to be juried into the Monothon PDX 2010 Show, Sale & Celebration on Friday, 10|15, 6-10 pm. The show, sale, and celebration will be hosted by WaterHeater, a new arts venue and brewery soon to open in the dynamic North Mississippi District at 3524 N Fremont Street in Portland. Show and sale opportunities will continue through the month of October.

Participation is free for PAN members; $35 for non-members. The $35 fee will be waived if artists become PAN members prior to the event.
