Stage Manager for Oregon Touring

Portland, OR-based Pendulum Aerial Arts has an immediate opening for a Stage Manager for their show High Art being staged in Klamath Falls, OR on October 22, 2011.The ideal candidate would also be available for a show in Salem, OR on January 21, 2012. There is the possibility that this position will extend into the following season.

Experience:

  • Min. 1 year demonstrated stage management experience
  • experience stage managing dance, contemporary circus, other types of physical theatre, and/or a touring production a plus
  • strong written and verbal communication skills

Pre-tour:

  • attend rehearsals, make notes and updates to existing cue sheets (see dates below)
  • Other pre-tour tasks might include work with director on interfacing with presenters/venues on logistics such as:
  • reviewing tech specs including what each party is responsible for
    • determining union regulations & guidelines, when applicable 
    • staffing (in-house vs Pendulum crew) 
    • gear sourcing, when applicable On Tour:
      • Call all shows
      •  Interface with venues and Pendulum staff to ensure efficient load in/load out
      • Be primary point person for all crew & company (in-house & Pendulum)
      • Prepare all call sheets and communicate with company members
      • Set & manage props, costume change areas pre-show
      • Manage transportation and lodging details for company where applicable
      • Prepared to assist w/ manual tasks for load in/load out

Stage Manager must be available for the following dates:

  • starting asap: Portland-based rehearsals on Tuesdays from 7-9pm and Sundays from 11am-1pm. An additional weekly rehearsal will be added starting October 10. Exactly day and time TBD.
  • October 19-23, 2011 (Klamath Falls, OR) Ideally, stage manager would also be available for:
  • January 19-22, 2011 (Salem, OR) Portland-based rehearsal time TBD

This is a paid position to start immediately. Fee for Klamath Falls is $675. Rehearsal pay, terms and rate will be negotiated based on production budgets and fee requirements.
