The City of Hillsboro, Oregon seeks to acquire a temporary public artwork for an existing, transitional outdoor space; total budget for this project not to exceed $4,000. Project Summary: The site is a former fountain that is no longer able to be utilized for its original purpose. The City desires to transform the site into a temporary (18 months to 2 years) public art feature, while waiting for new construction to begin on the site. At the close of the temporary period, the City will either end the lease on the artwork and release it to the artist or pursue permanent acquisition of the piece. Existing art that is one of a kind, or of a limited series, will be considered.
Process: The process will be overseen by the City of Hillsboro Arts & Culture Council (HACC); a government advisory board housed within the Parks and Recreation Department. The HACC and its staff will conduct the search for qualified applicants by means of a Request for Proposal (RFP) and will guide the process to completion.
