Volunteer Opportunities at Portland Taiko

Two volunteers needed at Portland Taiko,  an Asian American drum performance ensemble is seeking two data and office volunteers to join their team.

Data entry / Database assistance
Portland Taiko is looking for a volunteer to help with data issues, including data entry, data quality, address correction, and other issues as they arise. This work supports PT's database of transactions and contacts, from which PT's marketing and outreach programs are run. The working environment is a friendly and busy office with 3-4 people in it. The office space is adjacent to the rehearsal area, so volunteers will often hear the sounds of taiko being composed and performed. Volunteer will be using Win 7, Office 2010, and eBase, a FileMaker application, as well as applicable web site tools. Only elementary skill levels are required to perform the tasks assigned. Accuracy is stressed over speed. After training, the volunteer will be working with minimal supervision, and will be responsible for the quality of the work performed. Primary direction will come from another volunteer and the Office Manager.

Microsoft Access Development help needed
PT needs help to upgrade its Microsoft Access applications. Specifically we would like to find an experienced Access developer who would be willing to spend a few hours a week showing PT staff how to perform specific functions (e.g., dashboards, imbedded forms, imbedded reports, field fill from table lookup, etc.) Support could be provided on site or via email.
