2008 RACC Artists Workshops

This year RACC will be offering professional development workshops for working artists in all disciplines who reside in the tri-county Portland region. Space is limited so register soon. Going Digital: Submitting Application Materials in New Media Formats THIS WORKSHOP IS FULL
Confused about the differences between JPG, TIFF and other image formats? Unsure of which format is best for grant or public art applications? In this hands-on, Windows/PC-based workshop, participants will learn how to format digital images to meet general standards for projection. RACC's specific requirements for submitting digital media will also be discussed. You will be shown how to touch-up and enhance your digital images using photo-editing software, as well as how to properly format, label and organize your image files and burn them to a CD. This workshop is intended mainly for beginners, but it is expected that participants will have basic familiarity with using a computer, preferably with the Windows operating system in particular. Presenter: Christopher Huizar. Location: Art Institute of Portland, 1122 NW Davis Street, Portland, OR 97209. Fee: $25.

Online marketing: what works, what doesn’t. Discover free online resources that will bring more visitors to your web site. Good principals of user interface, information architecture and navigation structure as well as brief website evaluations. Following the workshop Mark invites you to continue the conversation, be prepared with a sack lunch; we will gather in a location near the Art Institute. Presenter: Mark Grimes.
