“For the Seventh Generation Project,” the two-foot by one-mile mural, needs volunteers.
The project brings attention to the oceans plight by creating a continuous seascape that is two-feet by one-mile in length. Conceptually starting at the Mexican border and ending at the Canadian border, every mile of the California, Oregon, and Washington coast will be represented.
The mural itself is a construction of 1,320 four foot paintings. We will be putting up one-third of a mile, a work in progress, on September 28, 2019. The completed mile is projected for 2021. The location will be the Post Office Site at NW Lovejoy and 8th.
We need volunteers to help prepare the 4-foot paintings to install. It involves screwing in brackets and other hardware and helping with preparing the individual panels for transport to the site. We will also need volunteers for the weekend of the event on September 28th.
We will be working on this project on Tuesdays, 12 Noon – 8:00 PM, beginning August 6th and continuing on every Tuesday through September 17, 2019. Also for the home stretch, every day from September 18th to September 28th.
It’s a big project with big ambitions and we could really use your help! This is a great way to meet passionate artists and to work on environmental issues concerning the ocean.
