Learn to weave your very own sturdy, practical and beautiful Adirondack pack basket in this 2-day workshop. These baskets are woven by hand using techniques that have been passed down through generations. Wilderness guides, hunters, and trappers used the Adirondack Pack Basket to carry just about everything they took with them into the woods. They are also great for farmer’s markets, hiking and foraging.
This 2-day class is open to all levels. During the 1st day, participants will begin weaving and form the shape of their pack. Rattan will be dyed to offer a range of colors and options for patterning. Day 2 participants will finish the rim of the pack and attach the straps. Each participant would leave with a finished pack basket, ready for use.
Class is open to students 16 and over, no experience is necessary
