Art Gallery Assistant Director

Established in 1972, Quintana Galleries is Portland’s premier Native American owned and operated gallery of First Nations, Native American, Arctic and Mexican art. In August of 2015, Quintana Galleries transitioned to exclusively online and by appointment. We are seeking to hire an exceptional person to work in all aspects of the daily operations of the gallery.

This is a unique position in that it is not a brick and mortar gallery and you will be working closely with the owner at their home studio in the Alameda neighborhood of NE Portland. The position is part-time to start Tuesday – Thursday with the possibility of transitioning to full time.

Qualifications:
Two+ years of Art Gallery or Retail experience.
Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills.
Must have basic computer skills with knowledge of website and database maintenance.
Experience with social media posting and traditional email marketing and public relations.
Ability to to lift up to 30 pounds, do display changes, and pack and ship valuable items.
Must be extremely organized and retain information.
Flexible and able to transition from one task to another as needed.
Valid drivers license and a car.

Pluses include experience working with indigenous art or cultures, extensive marketing experience with high end object, and/or extensive experience using multiple social media platforms.
