Arts Event Coordinators for Siren Nation

Deadline August 01, 2019

Founded in 2005, Siren Nation is a nonprofit arts organization that promotes and showcases the original work of women artists in Portland and Vancouver by creating performance, exhibition, and educational opportunities. We are 100% staffed by volunteers who are passionate about creating safe and supportive space for creativity.

The 13th annual Siren Nation Festival, which celebrates female-identifying creatives, will take place in November 2019. Our city-wide roster of diverse events means we’re always looking for energetic volunteers, and right now we have several opportunities for people to jump in and learn. Benefits include: working alongside rad women who get cool stuff done; resume building; networking; supporting your local community of makers and dreamers.

Arts Event Coordinator:
Serve as co-organizer for either (1) Arts Workshops or (2) Art & Craft Sale. Collaborate with current organizer to handle logistics and communications such as selection and scheduling of workshop/roundtable topics and speakers; vendor call promotion; application intake, review, and follow-up; speaker, vendor, and venue liaison; event signage and promotion; etc. This amazing person will work closely with Siren Nation’s Executive Director and outgoing organizers. We need someone who can commit through November and beyond.

Social Media & Promotion:
Help find new promotional avenues and conduct outreach to local media, community, educational, and arts organizations. Digitally promote open calls and Siren Nation events, this summer through fall. Manage event promotion, including social media, in the fall. Bonus if you’re comfortable with simple WordPress pages!

On-Site Festival Support:
Manage on-site event logistics, such as food service, room setup, signage, greeting speakers and vendors, troubleshooting, etc.

Web Design:
We’re also seeking a Web Design volunteer to revamp Siren Nation’s WordPress website.

Other Events:
Want to volunteer for one of our other events, which include women-centered music, dance, and comedy performances? Or organize another kind of arts event? We’d love to hear from you!
