CALL FOR ART AND COLLABORATORS: PORTLAND WINTER LIGHT FESTIVAL

Deadline December 11, 2024

Call for Art: Sanctum (part of of the Portland Winter Light Festival)

Sanctum aims to be a sanctuary of art, music, and creative storytelling. This is the Portland Winter Light Festival’s 10 yr anniversary, collectively themed “A Light to Remember,” calls for what messages we would like to send the future through our art and innovation. Our venue’s collective installation/concert experience is themed “Sanctum” and we are showcasing art, technology, and collaboration. Some of our “messages to the future will recall ancient wisdom- where community was valued as a way of life, where we viewed ourselves & our ecosystems as part of  the web of life, and embraced the natural cycles of life, death, and rebirth while using modern technology and innovation to tell that story. Key words are creativity, collaboration, sacred place, connection, safety, light. Works that actually incorporate physical light highly encouraged.

We are looking for relevant art, installations, and art projection submissions to include in Sanctum, and to accompany our live synth and stage performances. Additionally, we seek folks interested in volunteering with fabrication of props and installations, led install, and stage lighting.

Sanctum will be held at Past Lives Gallery, on SE 9th Ave.
