Theme
Each year mother nature faces us with increasing challenges, in response to our ineptitude and greed. We reached a point where we need to collectively decide whether the future will be about survival or the thriving of all species.
With this art call by the Imperfecta Gallery, you are challenged to create postcards that come from one of two possible futures:

Thrive: in this possible future, we restored our planet to its glory and we are living in a world where everyone and everything thrives. Or maybe we moved to live elsewhere and thrive there?

Survive: in this possible future, we live in a dystopic world where survival is the centerpiece of our society. Or maybe we moved elsewhere and found nothing better than mere survival.
Who can participate
Any artist (or team of artists) wishing to take on this challenge can submit up to 2 artworks (as per below requirements).
ALL submissions must be NEW, ORIGINAL artworks that respond to and take into account all requirements of this brief.
Artworks out of the scope of the brief or not in response to the brief will not be considered. Any art that we determine to be misogynistic, racist, offensive or similarly inclined will not be considered. Not For Sale submissions will not be considered.
Requirements

Submit up to 2 artworks – we accept original paintings, illustrations, sculptures, assemblages, art dolls, ceramics, wearable art, interactive or digital art.

Artwork must be ready-to-hang postcard sized (4” x 6”) or mounted onto a 4×6” surface.

No restrictions on how “thick” or “tall” artworks are.

Artworks can be displayed on the wall or a horizontal surface.

Artworks retail prices cannot exceed $200/each

If you submit a digital/interactive postcard, it must be ready to display and it must be a for sale item.

Email notification of acceptance: by June 13, 2025

Delivery of work (if accepted): must reach me by June 30, 2025 – If shipping, please reach out for the shipping address. DO NOT ship to the gallery!

Open/launch party: July 12 — 5-7pm

Exhibit: Runs through August 2, 2025
