POSITION TITLE: Development Manager

STARTING WAGE: $60,000-$65,000 annual salary

BENEFITS: Employer provided health and dental insurance, 10 days of paid PTO the first year of employment, accrued paid sick time, plus 7 paid holidays annually.

SCHEDULE:
40 hours/ a week. Salaried/exempt position
Weekend and evening work required.
Typical work week: Monday-Friday
Hours: 9-5 with the ability to flex hours for evening and weekend events

North Pole Studio was founded in 2020 with a mission to support careers in the arts, and increase opportunities for artists with autism and intellectual/developmental disabilities to thrive as active members of the arts community. We foster self-determination and facilitate meaningful connections through total engagement in the arts. Our core programs are our Professional Studio Program, Art Classes & Workshops, and our Exhibiting Artist Program.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Working in collaboration with the Executive Director, North Pole Studio’s Development Manager will oversee all aspects of the following fundraising efforts for the organization: corporate sponsorships, fundraising events, fundraising campaigns, donor relationship management, and donor cultivation and solicitation. The Development Manager is responsible for increasing the visibility of North Pole Studio among those constituencies, leading to increased giving. The Development Manager will also develop and implement plans that raise funds from individual donors through direct mail, social media, and email solicitations. Working in conjunction with the Executive Director, the manager will design and implement the strategy and ongoing activities to solicit and support fundraising and programmatic event sponsors. They will represent and expand North Pole Studio’s community presence through attendance at off-site events and engagement with community partners. They will lead communications strategies to increase engagement with fundraising initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Fundraising Events:

-Develop, organize and deliver annual fundraising events (2024 events include a Summer Art Salon and Winter Holiday Gala), working in collaboration with the Executive Director, Board of Directors, and fundraising committee
-Manage fundraising committee volunteers
-Organize and manage vendors and contracts, including venue, catering, music, etc.
-Map funding sources to expand both individual and corporate giving opportunities
-Cultivate strategic partners to facilitate in-kind and financial giving opportunities connected to events and annual giving targets
-Work in collaboration with the Executive Director and board to achieve annual corporate sponsorship revenue targets
-Develop event sponsorship packet, and diversify sponsorship offerings to facilitate partnership opportunities
-Secure in-kind donations for auction/raffle items at fundraising events
-Act as the lead organizer on all other annual fundraising events
-Evaluate and expand annual fundraising events calendar to diversify fundraising opportunities
-Work in collaboration with the Executive Director on establishing annual fundraising event budgets and manage budgets within set parameters and goals.

Fundraising Campaigns

-Manage annual monthly membership campaign calendar and communications
-Develop and deliver marketing strategy and incentives around monthly membership campaigns
-Develop and deliver marketing strategy around annual WW Give!Guide campaign
-Find and secure partners to incentivize campaign donors
-Work in collaboration with staff and artists to create marketing content to support campaign growth, such as videos of artists, interviews, etc.
-Expand donor base through engagement and contributions to campaigns
-Donor Data Management & Communications
-Maintain accurate donor data in CRM and maintain accurate information
-Serve as a spokesperson for North Pole Studio in the press and at networking events and opportunities
-Give tours to donors and strategic partners
-Expand North Pole Studio’s presence across press, events, and public spaces
-Identify and secure event-based fundraising opportunities hosted by community members
-Galvanize the community to share in North Pole Studio’s values and mission
-Manage strategic, on-going communication and engagement with the following audiences through email:
–Monthly Membership Program
–Business partners
–Press
–Small-mid sized donors
–Give!Guide Campaign
–Collaborate on a broad view Monthly Newsletter to general public with other staff

Other/General:

-Provide support to staff and artists in the studio as needed.
-Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/TRANSFERABLE SKILLS

*2-3 years of direct fundraising experience with a proven track record of successful personal solicitation of gifts of $500 or more.
*Event coordination and execution experience
*Successful experience in acquiring funding from corporations.
*Demonstrated understanding of basic fundraising principles and the development cycle.
*Experience in effectively nurturing and maintaining relationships with donors, supporters, community partners, and staff.
*Ability to develop, manage, and meet budgets.
*Strong project management skills, including the ability to set and meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
*Experience using a donor database system to track contacts, or equivalent.
*Demonstrated ability to appropriately manage highly confidential information.
*Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
*Superb attention to detail.
*Excellent customer service skills.
*Ability to interact positively with people of diverse backgrounds.
*Creative problem-solving ability.
*Commitment to the mission of North Pole Studio.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

*80-90% of time spent using a computer
*Lifting and carrying typical office & event supplies/materials (10-15 lbs)
*Studio and all event venues are ADA accessible
