Echo Theater Company is transitioning to a new model for space rentals, called our Co-Producer Model. We invite you to apply!
What is it?
Instead of simply renting out our space, we would like to offer a different kind of production model — a partnership model — in which our co-producers bring strong creative ideas and a capable production team and ETC supplies a well-equipped, accessible, “artist-ready” space for performances, rehearsals, film or photography shoots. This includes options to have front of house staff, access to our ticketing system, access to technical support, and marketing resources on our website, social media, mailing list, and local advertising. Co-production offers the space at reduced rates and less up-front expenses so that applicants settle up after ticket revenue is received. Applicants will retain up to 80% of their box office proceeds. The rest covers Echo’s facility costs, including a two-hour technical consult and facility manager during the show.
Interested artists/producers/organizations should submit ideas and plans, including a budget and marketing plan, via the Apply Now link by August 6, 2021
ETC will choose a limited number of Co-Producers through an open and competitive application process that will happen several times a year. Proposals will be read and considered by our curatorial committee, who are members of the ETC board/staff, as well as the Portland arts community. Additional details can be found on our website: www.echotheaterpdx.org/venue/echo-theater/
We are currently accepting new proposals for performances that take place September 25, 2021 – August 28, 2022. However, the curatorial committee will meet 2-3 times a year with future application deadlines anticipated in February 2022 and May 2022, for performances that take place March 2021 – August 28, 2022
