Position Title: Education and Wellness Manager
Reports To: Assistant Director of Education and Wellness
Classification: Full-Tme, 1.0 FTE Exempt
Compensation: $42,000 – $52,500 Based on Experience

We actively partner across a variety of city, county, state and community organizations to deliver training and support, a wide range of services, as well as influence policy.

This position will be responsible for the growth and sustainability of Latino Network’s Youth Education and Wellness Department. Responsibilities include designing and overseeing the implementation of school based youth and family programs; logistical coordination of program sites; curriculum development and support; and oversight of special projects. The Manager also collaborates with partner organizations, schools, local government, and the community. This position requires excellent follow through; high attention to detail; professional writing skills; and excellent communication through one on one meetings, phone, e-mail, and group communication with Latino Network community partners, staff, and program participants. The Manager must have experience in supervising staff, project management, curriculum development, and be culturally and linguistically fluid in both English and Spanish.
Supports Youth Education and Wellness Director by assisting with annual program planning, hiring, and training and providing overall program and administrative support
Engages in planning for program growth and replication
Trains, develops, and supervises program staff as directed by the Director
Works closely with Data & Evaluation Administrator to document effectiveness and inform program improvements through: accurate data collection, data analysis, and evaluation of program outcomes
Serves as a point of contact for Youth Education and Wellness Staff and other external program-level staff to ensure proper communication, coordination of programs, and data collection
Works to facilitate participant self-advocacy by developing and maintaining positive strong working relationships with participants, school and district staff and administrators, community partners and stakeholders
Represents Latino Network at required meetings, community events and forums related to youth and family experience in academic settings, educational equity, access, and attainment
Advocates for policies that promote equity and advance the interest of Latino youth and families in the areas of educational access and attainment, youth and family services, and civic integration and engagement
Supervises a dynamic team of youth and family engagement specialist at various school sites
Provides training and problem solving support to assist staff in successfully navigating their assigned school site
Represents Latino Network in a professional manner at school district meetings, gatherings and event.
Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with key school staff including principal, counselor, and program representatives
Communicates issues and barriers to leadership that may impact program outcomes and staff experience in their schools.
Manages projects and other duties as assigned by Director
Bachelor’s Degree in education, psychology, public policy, social work or related field; two years of supervisory and personnel management experience, three years of project and/or systems management, two years of community outreach or community organizing experience and or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Excellent written and oral bilingual communication skills in Spanish and English.
Demonstrated outcomes in curriculum development, implementation, and facilitation for Latino youth and adults.
Experience leading groups with diverse professional levels and the ability to effectively facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration.
Knowledge of and experience in navigating educational institutions, resources, programs, social services and government agencies.
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with schools, students, families, and community support systems.
Demonstrated ability to work both independently, lead a team, and work as a collaborative team member.
Ability to be flexible and adaptive to successfully achieve the functions of the position as described in the job responsibilities.
Experience in designing and implementing programs for Latino community.
Knowledge of systemic political, economic and social issues affecting Oregon Latinos and policy and decision-making processes at the local, state, and national levels.
Employs critical thinking and confidence in decision-making and carrying out actions.
