Working closely with Marketing, Audience Services departments, Events & Rentals, and more, the Group Sales Manager solicits, cultivates, and maintains relationships with group ticket buyers with orders ranging from ten friends organizing a night out to corporate events buying out entire performances.
Identify potential new group sales customers (businesses, colleges, clubs, etc.), cultivate contacts and relationships with appropriate or potential group organizers and solicit group sales.
Though the box office can and will assist with passive group sales customers who initiate contact themselves, the Group Sales Manager is responsible for providing ticketing services for group sales customers including seating, invoicing, payment processing, etc.
Collaborate with Directors of Marketing & Communications and Audience Services on all aspects of PCS group tickets policies, pricing, and communications plan.
Provide exceptional customer service to all PCS guests and customers.
Collaborate with Patron Services Manager, keeping the PCS box office aware of all current group sales information and actively engage them in the group sales process.
Maintain contact by mail, phone, and email with existing and past group sales customers, actively soliciting future group sales.
Develop and maintain thorough knowledge of all PCS events, ticketing software, and policies.
Working with Events and Rentals, Facilities, Marketing, Community Programs, and more, solicit, facilitate, and coordinate additional group related events such as pre- or post-show receptions, tours, etc.
In collaboration with supervisors, develop group sales targets, broad strategy, and provide regular reports and updates.
Assist with general box office operations as time allows, to be coordinated with Patron Services Manager.
Other duties as assigned.
Some combination of education and experience that demonstrate an ability to be successful in a sales and customer service position where results are critically important to the organization.
Basic knowledge of and familiarity with theater not required, but helpful.
Prior ticketing experience and the use of CRM software are a plus. Specific experience with Tessitura an even bigger plus.
