Milwaukie Lights Walk

Deadline November 14, 2025

Milwaukie Lights Walk is an annual community event that brings our arts and downtown community together to transform our downtown streets into an engaging winter lights art walk. We are currently accepting built and proposed submissions for this year’s installation that is scheduled to run from December 6th 2025 through the end of March 2026. This years theme is “Glow With the Flow.”

While all submissions will be considered preference will be giving to those that best represent the following criteria:

  • Engaging and dynamic
  • Weatherproof and capable of being installed outdoors in winter weather for 3 months, shorter durations are acceptable, please note available duration with submission.
  • Mountable on tension cable, light posts, trees, roofs, or building facades (Preferred maximum weight 200 lbs)
  • Limited free standing installation spaces available in Milwaukie Bay Park (Weight and bases negotiable)
  • Preference will be shown to pieces that pay homage to Milwaukie and its history
  • Artist must be willing and capable of maintaining installation for duration of show
  • LED, traditional lights, and projection art are preferred mediums, open to submissions that meet criteria above and are visible in the dark with ability to be programmed or turned on and off at designated times

All pieces to be delivered and/or installed no later than Nov. 28th, 2025.

Though this is not an official city event, we respect and honor the City’s Equity statement: Milwaukie’s community vision describes a future that is entirely equitable, delightfully livable, and completely sustainable. This means all people feel welcome, have access to a healthy environment, and have the resources and services they need to thrive by 2040. To achieve that vision, we need to make all of our decisions as a city in a thoughtful, intentional way.
