Artists of all disciplines are invited to apply for an art residency at Green Olive Arts, an international art studio in the beautiful city of Tetouan, Morocco. Between grand views of the Rif Mountains and the busy labyrinth of the ancient Arab walled medina, the visual inspiration and warm hospitality are sure to inspire. Shared (2-3 artists) and private studios are available, along with weekly artist lunch gatherings and connections to a local network of artists and traditional artisans. Enjoy a balance of focused production and research along with creative community and cultural immersion to stir your work to new levels.
3 or 6 week artist-funded residencies are available, with applications accepted on an ongoing basis for the following seasons:
2026 FALL: September 21-October 31 (3 or 6 weeks)
2027 SPRING March 22-April 10 (3 weeks)
2027 SUMMER June 21 – July 31 (3 or 6 weeks)
2027 FALL Sept 20 – Oct 9 (3 weeks)
Applicants are assessed by our Local Selection Panel. Approved applicants may expect a follow-up interview request before a final decision.
The residency fee for services and a studio space shared with one other creative is
10,000 Moroccan Dirhams (MAD) for 3 weeks and 19,000 MAD for 6 weeks.
For a private studio the fee is 15,000 MAD for 3 weeks and 29,000 MAD for 6 weeks.
Travel, housing, meals, supplies separate.
Applicants for self-directed residencies are to submit the following items:
– Application form – completed by applicant and submitted along with …
– An artist’s CV featuring selected projects, exhibitions, grants, past residencies, education and contact information.
– An Artist’s Statement (about 350-400 words) describing your current work and its significance and inspiration, as well as your technique and overall vision for your work.
– A portfolio containing a selection of works (max. 10), in PDF format for visual art and writing, and MP3 or MP4 format for music, film or performance work. Please include data on dimensions, materials, production year, location, publication or performance dates, etc.
– A non-refundable 200 Dirham ($20 USD) application fee is due upon application
