Arts for Learning Northwest (formerly Young Audiences of Oregon & SW Washington) is seeking an energetic and experienced individual with strong organizational skills to join our team of arts administrators working to champion arts education for all. This role is a crucial part of our organizational structure, providing a solid internal foundation for our mission-centered programs which serve 50,000 students every year.
This Operations and Finance Administrator will be responsible for assisting with day-to-day operations of Arts for Learning Northwest, a mid-sized arts and education nonprofit organization. This includes weekly bookkeeping, payroll, and database administration in order to support our busy programming and development teams. This position is hybrid and, while full-time, only requires 2–3 days per week onsite in our Portland office.
Full Charge Bookkeeping
– Payroll preparation and execution
– Cash flow monitoring
– Posting and journalizing of invoices
– General ledger posting
– Balance sheet and general ledger reconciliation
– Journal entries
– Ongoing year-end financial forecasting
– Vendor payables and receivables management
– Managing artist project contracts
Employee Benefits Administration
– Employee enrollment, change and termination
– Health plan and insurance maintenance
– Personal time bank tracking
Database Administration
– Salesforce administration
– Support programs and development teams in data and opportunity management
Additional Administrative Support
– Tracking and maintaining internal systems and supports
– Collaborating with the Operations Team for increased organizational efficiency
– Additional tasks identified by organizational leadership as they emerge
Strong candidates will have excellent bookkeeping skills; a keen eye for detail matched with perspective on the big picture; the perspective and experience to anticipate organizational needs; the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines; and the disposition to thrive in a highly collaborative, friendly, small office environment passionate about its mission.
Requirements for this position:
– 3+ years of experience in bookkeeping and payroll administration
– Fluency with Quickbooks and Excel
– Familiarity with Salesforce
