OHOM Open Hearts Open Minds
A Prison Arts Organization
OHOM Executive Assistant – Job Posting July 2020
WHO WE ARE
Since 2007, we at OHOM have been fulfilling our mission to serve current and former inmates by cultivating positive change through mentorship, education and the arts. OHOM conducts dialogue, theater, arts and music programs at three Oregon correctional facilities – Columbia River Correctional Institution in Portland, Coffee Creek Correctional Facility in Wilsonville and Two Rivers Correctional Institution in Umatilla.
Prior to visitor restrictions put in place during COVID-19, program facilitators offered 2-3 classes on a weekly basis at each facility. OHOM is pivoting and reinventing programs adaptable to remote learning. In 2019, we began a transition year, with new leadership helping to guide the path to our next phase of maturity. Volunteers play a large part of the organization and are the driving force in keeping our programs running. Now, with the development of our new 5-year strategic plan, we are focusing on building capacity to support infrastructure development, operations and marketing. One of the first steps to get these exciting new priorities going is to hire an executive assistant to work with the executive director in formalizing policies and procedures. OHOM has a small working board with each member contributing significant time and talent to the organization.
