Portland Columbia Symphony is currently seeking new volunteer Board members.
Since its founding in 1982, Portland Columbia Symphony has become a staple of
Multnomah County’s arts scene, bringing 62 paid core musicians together each year to
perform a classical subscription series and myriad education and outreach events for
audiences based in both Greater Portland and East County. A Board of dedicated
and committed advocates works closely with administrative and musical staff to present
affordable and comfortable concert environments for audiences of all kinds, while also
providing competitive, creative jobs and opportunities for the area’s leading freelance
professionals, music educators, and newly established conservatory-trained musicians. More information about the orchestra and its mission is available at wwwpcsymphony.org.
Board members are responsible for strategic planning and fiduciary oversight and are heavily involved in fundraising and community outreach. Prospective Board members should contact Executive Director Rebekah Phillips (firstname.lastname@example.org) to express an interest and to receive a Prospective Board Nomination Package. Minority candidates are particularly welcomed, as the Board seeks to implement its diversity, equity, and inclusion goals.
