Public Art: EUG Airport, City of Eugene

Deadline October 25, 2019

The City of Eugene, Oregon is issuing a Request for Qualifications from experienced artists or artist-teams to create a public work of art at Eugene Airport (EUG). This commission is open to all professional artists, 18 and over, who are located and working within the United States. In 2016, EUG renovated its main escalator and elevator core area to improve passenger flow. This redesigned space offers an exciting opportunity for an artist to create site-specific, architecturally-integrated work that is engaging, memorable and will become an icon for the City of Eugene. This site offers artists the opportunity to work multi-dimensionally, as the work will be viewed from both the upper and lower terminal levels, as well as from outside the terminal. Artists working with architecturally-integrated aerial sculpture design and art-glass are encouraged to apply. The project budget is $120,000 including design, fabrication and installation. Five finalists will be selected to receive a $1,500 stipend to develop site-specific proposals. Submit your qualifications on by October 25, 2019.
