WHAT IT MEANS TO BE ON A ROSTER Being on the roster exposes your work to people seeking an artist for a mural, giving them unprecedented access to your work to evaluate how your style and skills match the needs of a particular site/building, neighborhood or city. The roster can be used by anyone seeking artists for a mural project — community groups, business or property owners, other public art programs, schools, architecture firms and private developers. A PDF of the roster is posted at racc.org and includes links to the artist’s website, facebook page or other appropriate links where completed projects can be seen.
If you’re on the roster and commissioned by someone to do a mural in Portland, you have the option of either obtaining approval (and funding, if desired) through RACC’s Public Art Murals Program or obtaining a City of Portland’s Original Art Mural Permit ($50 fee). RACC does not guarantee that an artist on this Roster will be selected for a project.
Artists who are not on the roster, remain eligible to apply for approval and/or funding through RACC’s Public Art Murals Program or submit an application for the City of Portland’s Original Art Mural Permit.
ELIGIBILITY Artists living and working in Oregon or Washington are eligible to apply whether or not they currently have a mural in the City of Portland. Individuals currently enrolled in a degree granting art program are not eligible. Artists do not need to have a project in mind when applying for this roster. RACC encourages artists from diverse backgrounds and ranges of experience to apply.
