RACC Public Art Opportunity: Natural Grocers

Deadline June 27, 2016

The Regional Arts & Culture Council (RACC) in Portland, Oregon, invites visual artists and graphic designers living in the Portland Metropolitan Region (Multnomah, Washington, Clackamas counties) to submit qualifications for two site specific exterior wallworks for a new Natural Grocers opening in Spring 2017 at NE Martin Luther King Jr Blvd and NE Alberta St.  Artists will be required to provide a design graphic that can be fabricated in a durable material and will be assisted by RACC to identify an appropriate fabricator for the project. The budget of approximately $80,000 covers design, fabrication and installation. The deadline for submitting application materials is 10:59PM, Monday, June 27, 2016.

The Selection Panel encourages artists with past/present connections to the MLK/Alberta Street communities to apply. An important focus of this call for artists will be to expand the breadth and depth of the collection to more fully express the cultural diversity of our community. RACC is committed to engaging new communities of artists and expanding the range of artistic and cultural expression represented in the City’s public art collection.
