Call for Artists: Portland Parks and Recreation Site in SE Portland
Mt. Scott Community Center is seeking artists for our Community Art Wall program for the 2026 exhibition year!
Artwork installations are approximately 6 weeks long. MSCC may pair artists together for two-person shows to increase the number of artists who can be shown in a year. Applications for solo shows are also welcome.
Our Community Art Wall is located in the main hallway, at the heart of our bustling center.
The application process is free.
All artwork must be hangable on the wall. Both 2D artwork and wall-hanging 3D works are welcome. Work submitted with this application must be representative of the work to be exhibited.
Artists living in the Portland area are invited to apply. Artists living in Southeast Portland are especially encouraged.
Tips for Application:
- Make sure your images show your art on a neutral background with good light. Anything other than that makes it hard to really see your work, and we really want to see your work. Here’s a good “how to” reference: www.callforentry.org/photographing-artwork
- Send as many images as you are allowed (i.e. 10 for an individual artist and up to 20 for a group show of two or more artists). Sending fewer images can raise questions about whether you have enough art to fill the space, or if you have a cohesive body of work. You want to answer questions with your application, not create them.
- MSCC prioritizes art that fits in with Portland Parks & Recreation mission statement and values. See below to read more about Portland PP&R.
- Apply anyway! If you have any doubt on whether you should apply, go ahead and apply!

Improvements include new fitness rooms, rental and event spaces, classrooms, and offices, as well as upgrades to the existing building’s roof, HVAC, and fire-sprinkler systems, seismic stability, and windows.
