WALLOW is a non-profit foundation that promotes art awareness using education and technology. The foundation lives in WALLOW Gallery, located in the heart of Oregon wine country, Carlton. We utilize virtual reality technology to allow our guests to connect with art on another level. Using VR goggles, they can explore the artists studios, places that have inspired art, and other local galleries and public art. We also use our gallery as a venue for art education. We offer accessible art education for adults and children of all ages.
Able to work several days per week; available for occasional evenings and weekends
Punctual and responsible
Undergraduate student studying art or a related field
Able to receive credit or stipend through your university
Interest in teaching and communicating about art
Understanding of artistic principles, and ability to articulate artistic ideas
Strong work ethic and interpersonal skills
Experience working in a front-of-house environment preferred

Assisting customers in the gallery, acting as a docent to improve their understanding and connection with the work
Assistant teaching art classes for both children and adults
Learning about PR and Marketing and helping with content creation
Participating and assisting in the curation of our Fall Show
Participation in the artist mentorship program- working with a local artist associated with the gallery throughout the summer on a piece of work that will be featured in the fall show
We hope to provide you with an educational experience of what it is like to actively work in the art world. Though this is a seasonal, part-time internship, we hope to create a long term connection with our employees, ideally providing them with future opportunities for support and collaboration.
