The Verdancy Project – Art and Ecology Residency

Deadline October 23, 2022

Applications are now open for our 2023 residency.
The deadline is Oct 23rd.

Located in Troutdale OR, The Verdancy Project Residency offers artists time and space to create, rest, research, recharge, and get away from the demands of everyday life. We provide privacy, nature, solitude, time, and space for artists working in the disciplines of visual, dance, theater, music, media, literary, and interdisciplinary arts. Our program is for creatives who have a deep connection to nature, ecology, and/or science. Artists who are stewards of the earth and interested in the natural sciences.

We do not impose any expectations on the artists. There are no project or production requirements. In fact, we think it’s important to normalize rest, idea generation, experimentation, gestation, and time for artists to simply be present without the expectation of output. As artists ourselves, we understand how important it is to plant the seeds of creativity and to have time to explore and cultivate ideas.

We understand that a lot of artists work and/or have families and can’t get away for an extended period of time. We offer 1- and 2-week residencies in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. The Verdancy Project is on 4.5 acres of private land that hosts a constellation of spaces including an indoor studio, field station, treehouse, woodlands, creek, and more.

We are hosting two info sessions. Join us to ask questions about the program, property, and more. Resident Alumni will be present to talk about their experiences.

Oct 8th at 11am, Online info session (via Zoom)
