Visual Artists for Collaborative Fantasy Creature Project

Artsify is an art-centered support agency for adults with developmental disabilities. One of our community members has started a zine project requiring a variety of art styles to create title page illustrations for individual mythical creatures. Artists of any medium, art style, and artistic level are welcome to apply.

There are specific mythical creatures needed (i.e. ghosts, kappa, elves, jackalope, death’s head hawk moth). Once you are added to the project, you will be sent a creature list to choose from, and later, a write-up about your selected character and original concept art to reference.

Project Concept: In a fantasy world, a shopkeeper runs a pet store for mythical creatures. He has created a bestiary of all the pets they carry, asking each of his employees to draw a picture of the pets they have personally rescued, creating a collaborative product.

Exhibition: At a date that is still TBA this year, Artsify will host a gallery show featuring this zine alongside art projects from others in the community. This zine will also exist as a free printable PDF. If physical copies are made for purchase in the future, you’ll receive a project update.
