White Bird Boutique Manager

White Bird, Portland, Oregon’s premiere nonprofit contemporary dance presenting organization, seeks a part-time Boutique Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS include minimum 2 years previous retail experience, with expertise in sales, retail display, daily sales reconciliation, and inventory database management. Superior customer service and people skills and ability to problem-solve in time-sensitive situations amidst busy environments. Ability to train and oversee a select group of volunteer salespeople. Proven results in reaching profit margin goals in a retail setting. Team player with leadership skills, appreciation for the arts, aesthetic sensibilities, and flexible outlook.
Job responsibilities include:
–Oversee load-in/load-out of boutique inventory and pop-up structure in three theatre environments over the course of the season that runs from October through May. Also assist in load-in and load-out of theater for each White Bird show.
–Show creativity and resourcefulness in attractively, effectively and securely displaying merchandise in a small, changeable environment.
–Process sales using tablet/credit card swiper technology, and maintain inventory
–Develop online store with small selection of White Bird boutique products
–Maintain accurate inventory tracking and process reorders when needed.
–When needed, research, suggest, and price out new merchandise items to keep boutique offerings fresh.
–Work closely with Co-Founders and finance staff in setting annual budget and seasonal income revenue goals.
–Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds and able to assemble and disassemble prefabricated 9′ pop-up structure.
