Basic duties include:
The Willamette Valley Lavender Festival Coordinator position will report directly to the Director of Arts Programming in the planning, coordination, and execution of our annual Willamette Valley Lavender Festival held on July 8 & 9, 2022.

About the Festival:
The Willamette Valley Lavender Festival is a two-day festival held annually on the second weekend of July that celebrates the Lavender industry in our region through a vendor marketplace of lavender-themed, handmade products, food and drink vendors, a Lavender Plein Air Paint Out, and live musical performances.

March 2022 First Monthly Planning Committee Meeting
April 2022 Marketplace Vendor Recruitment Starts
April-June 2022 Logistics Planning/Coordination
June 20, 2022 Vendor Application Closes
July 5-7 2022 Festival Setup On Site
July 8 & 9, 2022 Festival

Job duties will include:
Facilitate monthly meetings with the planning committee: set dates & agendas, coordinate volunteer committee member tasks
Work closely with the Plein Air Paint Out Coordinator to execute schedules and joint festival tasks
Work closely with the Marketing Coordinator, translation services and other staff to assist in the marketing and promotion of the festival.
Work closely with the Volunteer Coordinator to manage volunteer needs and jobs for the festival
Book musicians and coordinate the performances during the festival
Coordinate/manage the vendor marketplace application process
Map out the layout of the vendor marketplace and communicate with all vendors leading up to the festival
Coordinate all logistics for the festival including: overnight security, equipment rental, permitting, signage, parking plans, sound engineer, set up and clean-up

Much of the coordination work leading up to the festival can be done remotely, but the coordinator must be on-site for scheduled meetings, set up the week of the festival, both days of the festival, and clean-up.

-excellent organizational and time management skills
-excellent written communication skills
-good problem solver
-experience working with and leading volunteers
-proficient computer skills: experience with Google Drive a plus
-self motivated

COVID-19 Vaccination Policy:
For the safety of our staff, volunteers, and guests, the Chehalem Cultural Center is requiring all staff to be fully vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus. Candidates must be able to provide proof of full vaccination by their hire date.

Pay: $15-17/hr DOE, language differential available for those with second language skills
