The 14th Annual Umpqua Plein Air event is coming to Umpqua Valley Arts!

Umpqua Plein Air is a paint-out event and exhibition that is hosted by Umpqua Valley Arts in Southern Oregon. This event occurs annual, and artists from the Pacific Northwest and beyond come to paint the incredibly varied landscapes of Douglas County. Artists will spend five days painting outdoors across the Umpqua Valley, and then submit up to three works to be reviewed and juried by a juror whom UVA invites to lend their expertise to select the top 40 works, assign awards and accolades, and provide a demo for the artists to partake in. This year, we have Anton Pavlenko as our juror. Since starting his professional career in 2009, Anton’s work has appeared in artist magazines and publications along with a feature story on public television, and he has received numerous top awards. Schedule of Events:
Registration Deadline: August 2nd by midnight
Online Orientation & Juror Talk (optional but encouraged): August 15th (Time TBD)
Artist Check-In and Social: August 19th starting at 9am
Paint-Out Event: August 19th – 23rd
Juror Demo & Guided Paint-Out: August 24th (Time TBD)
Opening Reception: August 24th from 4pm-7pm with Staff Remarks, Juror Remarks, and Awards at 5:30pm.
Exhibit Dates: August 27th – October 25th, 2024.
Artwork Pick-Up: October 28th
