The City of Happy Valley, Oregon seeks to commission a permanent, outdoor work of art for placement in a new roundabout (traffic circle) at King Road and 129th Avenue in Happy Valley, Oregon. The roundabout will function as a transportation gateway between the City of Happy Valley and the City of Portland, providing access to employment areas, several schools, and Happy Valley’s vibrant public park system.

The scope of this commission includes: artwork design, fabrication, and transportation to the project site. Installation services and companion landscaping to be provided by the City.

Artwork will be installed fall, 2025. Artwork will be commissioned through a Request for Qualifications process. Up to 5 artists/artist teams will be invited to submit a full proposal. Finalists will receive a stipend of $1,500 to assist in proposal development. Up to $120k will be awarded to the winning proposal.
