Rental Sales Gallery New Member Artist Show – Call for Artists

Deadline September 30, 2024

Show Information
We are very pleased to announce that the Rental Sales Gallery, Portland Art Museum is hosting an open call for new Member Artists in 2024. This is an opportunity to join the Gallery and have your works showcased here, reaching our audience of corporate clients and individual purchasers and renters.

Enter your images online at onlinejuriedshows.com. Visit rentalsalesgallery.com/artist-submissions for more information. Submissions will go live on Sunday, September 1st, and the link to the OJS page will be available through our website. Look for the Rental Sales Gallery logo (large, orange P).

Artists can submit up to 10 works either of a single grouping or in a variety of styles if they wish. RSG is looking to build long-term relationships with our new Member Artists, so if your desire is to showcase a variety of your work, we would be pleased to see that (but it is not required).

Submissions will be open Sunday, September 1st – Monday, September 30th. If you are selected, your chosen pieces will be in the Gallery’s New Member Artist Show, which will open to the public on Friday, December 6th 2024, from 4-7pm.

Eligibility
To apply for representation in the Rental Sales Gallery (RSG) you need to be an artist who is from or resident in Oregon or Washington State. We are seeking submissions of works in 2D and 3D. Artists of all experience levels are encouraged to apply, as this show is open for both emerging and established artists. Please also submit your resume for our review. You can upload your resume in your Artist Profile.

The entry fee to submit your works for consideration is $20. Gallery Member Artists do not pay any membership or annual fees. The Gallery operates solely on a commission split model, with the artist receiving their commission on a monthly basis.

Each group of submitted works will be evaluated on criteria including, but not limited to
the following:
1. Overall quality and artistic merit
2. Diversity of media, style, technique and artistic voice
3. Desirability for the Gallery’s varied clientele
4. Appropriateness for display in a space open to the general public

Submitting Resume (REQUIRED): After entering your images go back to OnlineJuriedShows.com and log in using your email address and password. Gallery Information
The Rental Sales Gallery is part of Portland Art Museum. Founded in 1959, the Gallery has operated continuously since, providing a space for artists from the Pacific Northwest to show their works. As part of the Museum, the Gallery operates as a non-profit, putting focus on supporting our artists.

All works that are submitted to the Gallery by our Member Artists are made available to be both rented and purchased. Rental periods last up to 3 months, with the client paying a single, fixed fee at the start of the rental period. Each client has the option to renew the rental for an additional 3 months. Clients who are renting the piece have first refusal on purchasing the work. Rental prices are calculated using the purchase price of the piece, set by the artist. Artists receive 50% of all rentals and 50% of all sales. When a piece is sold, the Member Artist will be informed, and they can bring a replacement piece for the sold work into the Gallery.

Gallery Member Artists have the opportunity to showcase their works through the Rental Sales Gallery. We host two major shows a year, in the Spring and the Fall, where our artists can submit new works to be displayed. Our hope is to add further shows and fairs in the future, giving our Member Artists further opportunities to showcase their works.
