Many Hats Collaboration seeks a part-time (25-30 hours/month) hybrid Company Production Manager to support year-round production needs, financial planning and financial oversight of small theater company.
Duties include:
- Year round production management for 1-2 festivals and 2-3 workshops per year. This includes contracting, scheduling meetings and managing show budgets and payments
- Co-create and oversee an annual development plan in collaboration with the artistic director and grant writer
- Create and oversee annual budget
- Monthly bookkeeping, donor tracking and assistance with annual filings
- Produce financial reports for board, grants and staff
- Regularly scheduled meetings with Artistic Director
Ideal candidate would have production management experience and a human-centered ethos that keeps the health of artistic collaborators in mind throughout the production process. Additionally, the ideal candidate has a working knowledge of nonprofit bookkeeping and brings a fiscally shrewd eye to budget management and financial compliance. We are looking for someone to own production and financial practicalities in partnership with artistic goals.
Many Hats Collaboration currently produces one multi-project festival each August, and 1-3 workshops throughout the year. Candidate would shepherd these production processes throughout the calendar year and support the Artistic Director’s emerging new works projects as they arise.
A qualified candidate will be proficient with Quickbooks and Google Sheets. Familiarity with Asana or other project management software is a plus. We are also looking for someone who is detail oriented with the flexibility to allow for emergence. The Company Production Manager values planning, thoroughness, and consistency. We are also looking for a great communicator who is aware of and accountable to work within agreed upon timelines. Experience with theater budgeting is a plus, but not required. Reports to Artistic Director and Board Treasurer.
Busy times of year include Aug-Sept, when annual budgeting for board approval in September may overlap with production; Dec-January, when donation acknowledgements, budget to actuals, and 1099s are due. Finally, whenever a production is mounted is also a busy time.
We are hoping to find a person who would like to make a 1 year commitment with a performance check in at the end of this calendar year. This is a capacity building role and we envision this job with room to grow into a .5 FTE Executive Director.
