The Oregon Arts Commission is requesting submissions from artists and artist representatives of available artworks to be considered for purchase for a Percent for Art in Public Places opportunity at Oregon State University’s Hatfield Marine Science Center. The High Ground Housing project is a new three-story, 35,837 square foot building that will provide housing options for HMSC campus. The building will be open in fall of 2025.
Submission Deadline: 5:00 p.m. Pacific time on Monday, September 15, 2025.
Eligibility: Artworks from artists residing in states that border the Pacific Ocean (Oregon, Washington, California, Hawaii) are eligible for consideration. Artists from traditionally or currently underserved communities including (but not limited to) rural communities and communities of color are especially encouraged to apply.
Budget: The anticipated art budget for the purchases is $73,000. The budget includes artwork costs, shipping, installation and all other related costs.
