Visual Arts Teachers, August 2026

Deadline October 01, 2025

Every summer since 1966, the Creative Arts Community has organized unique residential workshops at Menucha, just twenty minutes east of Portland, Oregon. Overlooking the spectacular Columbia River Gorge, the historic 90-acre Meier estate offers walking trails, meditative gardens, and an outdoor swimming pool.

In two separate, one-week sessions the first two weeks of August, we offer workshops with a focus on visual arts, including painting, drawing, printmaking, and ceramics. Other classes offer hands-on exploration, and have included sculpture, collage, textiles, jewelry, basketry, assemblage, and more. Non-visual arts classes offer writing, music and improvisation. All skill levels are welcome.

We are searching for artists/writers/musicians who love to teach and enjoy the idea of an immersive experience working with small classes of adult students in a spectacularly beautiful setting. It’s like “art camp” for grownups with meals and lodging, and evening presentations. We also create a Pop-Up Gallery on site where you can sell your work.

We pay a stipend and provide room and board. We would love to consider your proposal for a week-long workshop (5 days, six hours of teaching each day) in visual art, writing, music or other arts related topics. We welcome your ideas!
