Dori King

Dori King says her life’s calling is storytelling. After working in HR and the buying office for Macy’s, she joined Nike in their HR department. Thanks to a generous boss there, she was invited to pursue a transition to a new career close to her heart. She calls herself a “second career educator.” Currently, Dori is the Coordinator for Folks of Color in Schools, teaches part time, and is a meditation facilitator. Dori comes to board service from a school's framework, and is interested in governance; she has served on a number of advisory boards including the Pitzer College parent advisory board and Beaverton’s Human Rights Commission. She’s deeply engaged with the new Patricia Reser Center for the Arts in Beaverton, and serves as a gallery docent. Dori is also an aspiring children’s book author.
