Mario Mesquita joins RACC’s Advocacy and Development Team as Manager of Advocacy and Engagement arriving with more than ten years of experience as a proponent of education and the arts. He is a passionate bilingual, bicultural, and mission-driven individual with a special interest in shaping and delivering positive cultural shifts in complex organizations. Mario is a collaborator, arts educator, artist, and strong community and social justice supporter.

Mario’s experience ranges from mentoring first-generation high school seniors to higher education non-traditional students; to public programming; as well as overseeing, mentoring, and training a team of art educators. In 2018 he was part of a panel at the American’s For the Arts (AFTA) Conference on “Radically Disrupting the Community/Cultural Planning Engine” presenting relevant ways of engaging with the community through direct social interactions and exchanges after working with the city of Santa Monica as an invited artist.
